Washlet Technology.

So what is WASHLET Technology? It incorporates a unique wand that allows water to be used for personal cleaning in a way that leads to a completely new level of hygiene and comfort. The warm water cleans far more effectively than paper ever could. Its temperature and flow are easily adjusted by remote control, and the wand self-cleans before and after every use. The energy-saving mode can also be activated to increase efficiency.

Every aspect of WASHLET Technology, including the angle at which the water flows – with settings for front and rear cleansing – has been refined to perfection. It is the world’s most evolved toilet technology; the epitome of how Clean Technology enhances the bathroom experience.

TOTO Washlets offer next-level functionality, incorporated into a neat contemporary design, including:

  • heated WC seat
  • automated WC lid opening
  • warm air dryer
  • advanced wand control
  • WC pans incorporate advanced patented Tornado flushing – making them the best flushing rimless WC in a recent independent test

Now that the dust has settled on our hugely enjoyable and inspirational trip to Salone del Mobile in Milan, we have taken a minute to recap on the highlights of the exhibition and the trends we spotted coming down the line!

The Highlights from Salone del Mobile

What’s not to love about heading off to Milan for a late Spring trip, especially with a fabulous group of architects and interior designers! Difficult to narrow the list but here are some particular favourites:

  1. Immersing ourselves in the ultimate sensory experience with Dornbract‘s LifeSpa: the new frontier in wellness and health. We tried a 180-second Criosauna treatment (a sauna that operates at -160 °C thanks to the use of liquid nitrogen!), while the heat-seekers enjoyed steam rooms, chromotherapy rain showers, pool and Balneotherapy, which involves hot or cold water, massage through moving water, relaxation, or stimulation
  2. We enjoyed a first-hand look at Dornbracht’s Aquamoon multi-sensory shower launch, which is particularly minimalist by design, sitting flush to the ceiling and boosting mood through various flow modes and integrated lighting
  3. Thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality at the Effegibi exhibition, who epitomise the essence of ‘perfect wellness’, and their new Fitbox, which is a combination of a Hammam and a shower in a small but customisable space
  4. We can’t get enough of our Spanish tile partner, Apavisa, who introduced the new SLABS range of wall & floor tile. This is an ideal solution for commercial projects with anti-slip structured matte floor slabs +36 PTV and so many colour and size options for every space

Top tile trends

We spent a lot of our time exploring the bathrooms and tiles exhibitions, and really noticed some continuing and emerging new tile trends, including:

  1. Terrazzo tiles
  2. Glass block tiles
  3. Geometric and 3D geometric pattern tiles
  4. Large slab tiles in loud patterns

Enjoy perusing a selection of the pictures we took, and we will share more with you at next year’s Salone del Mobile 2019!
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at +353 (0)46.902.9444 to discuss your next project or email

Bewley’s reopens on Dublin’s Grafton Street

Bewley’s reopens on Dublin’s Grafton Street. Bewley’s Grafton Street, one of Dublin’s most iconic and celebrated landmarks, reopened its doors recently. After a multi-million-euro refurbishment, the much-loved and much-missed café is ready to welcome back customers.

Well done to Mechanical Consultants Richard Dixon & Associates and all involved. Versatile were delighted to supply Jaga Pebble Grill Trench for the main entrance along with Jaga Strada DBE radiators & LSA over door air curtains for this new refurbishment.

Jaga Pebbles

Pebbles is a new addition to the extensive Jaga range. It is an superbly crafted cast aluminium grille, a masterpiece of traditional metalwork. Pebbles has the strong appearance of a traditional heavy cast iron grille with all the advantages of light aluminium. The irregularly spaced and different shaped holes give the grille the appearance of a scattering of pebbles.

Jaga Strada DBE radiators

The Jaga Strada DBE is a slim-line classic radiator, available in a range of colours. The DBE (dynamic boost effect) technology gives a powerful injection of heat into the room, providing extra warmth from a simple and discreet heater. The surface temperature of the casing always remains safe, and all valves and connections are concealed within the casing – keeping this radiator looking neat and streamline. Strada DBE (dynamic boost effect) is also available with the super powered Twin heat exchangers, and is perfect for use with low temperature heating systems and ideal for use with heat pumps.

LSA Cassette Effect

Black Bathrooms

Surely, I am not the only one that thinks that black is a go to colour from black clothes to black bathrooms? Is it a colour at all I wonder?

Anyway, since I first became aware of black bathrooms products at 4 years of age, I have been a fan. (The item was a coffee cup in my mother’s posh friend’s house.)
We here in Versatile bathrooms have noticed the very quiet introduction of black fittings from all of our manufacturers, matt black shower fittings and taps by Dornbracht to steel titanium basins by Alape to heated towel rails by Zehnder. Even some sanitary ware manufacturers like Laufen are producing black ceramics.

We have embraced the trend in our showroom have added many examples to our settings in w.c’s, basins and baths. For a touch of drama to an otherwise bland bathroom, to a commercial installation, black fittings are really on trend creating a cool easy vibe. We can now even order shower doors with black frames. Another plus is that it won’t require polishing.

It will be interesting to see it if this is a trend that is embraced by the designer community? Will it
become a design classic? We would love to see examples of any installations and will award a
basket of black accessories, for example toilet brushes, soap dishes to the most stylish. We dream
about bathrooms, I know, how sad! Black bathrooms are back for sure!

Our all-round service for hotel bathrooms & Spas

The Dornbracht Group demands the highest standards of the designs, materials and surface finishes of all its products. Measures taken to ensure this include thorough, manual quality inspections after each production stage, functionality testing for every article that carries water and measurements to ensure the quality of the surface finish in all hotel bathrooms.

As far as Dornbracht is concerned, a responsible approach to natural raw materials, especially the resource of water, is one of the most important aspects of sustainable behaviour. Added to this are the use of materials that can be recycled, and product durability.

Lead-free: with Dornbracht basin and kitchen fittings, there is no possibility of additional lead getting into drinking water.

User safety

As a leading manufacturer in the premium segment, we represent ultimate reliability and value. This also includes those aspects of user safety that are seemingly taken for granted, such as the ability to set and adjust temperatures, or not having any sharp edges in the product design.

The character of Dornbracht fittings is quite clear. Succinct in form, their proportion and precision give an overall impression of progressiveness. These sustainable aesthetics guarantee that the products will retain their value for a long time.

Image business woman of the year award

“I am delighted to sponsor this award as we began our own business many years ago. If I were to impart any words that would perhaps inspire or guide female entrepreneurs it would be to remember that from small beginnings great things can take form.

Being successful for me is about being practical, I think its important to try to remain down to earth as there are many things that you will learn along the way. Picking a good team and treating everyone you work with respect is important. But keep focused and keep on going. All the small things add up to the bigger picture”
