Surely, I am not the only one that thinks that black is a go to colour from black clothes to black bathrooms? Is it a colour at all I wonder?
Anyway, since I first became aware of black bathrooms products at 4 years of age, I have been a fan. (The item was a coffee cup in my mother’s posh friend’s house.)
We here in Versatile bathrooms have noticed the very quiet introduction of black fittings from all of our manufacturers, matt black shower fittings and taps by Dornbracht to steel titanium basins by Alape to heated towel rails by Zehnder. Even some sanitary ware manufacturers like Laufen are producing black ceramics.
We have embraced the trend in our showroom have added many examples to our settings in w.c’s, basins and baths. For a touch of drama to an otherwise bland bathroom, to a commercial installation, black fittings are really on trend creating a cool easy vibe. We can now even order shower doors with black frames. Another plus is that it won’t require polishing.
It will be interesting to see it if this is a trend that is embraced by the designer community? Will it
become a design classic? We would love to see examples of any installations and will award a
basket of black accessories, for example toilet brushes, soap dishes to the most stylish. We dream
about bathrooms, I know, how sad! Black bathrooms are back for sure!
